It is obvious a few of the reviews are personal attackers. I would discount those because I have eaten here and had what I would describe as one of the great burgers of my life. I think it was called an English burger. It was on a big English muffin with bacon and cheddar. You would be remiss if you never tried the restaurant. Also it seemed very clean to me but I did not go into the kitchen...

I used to clean the beer lines there when I lived in PA. The kitchen was always filthy, and trust me, when you see "what" works in their kitchen and touches your food, you'll throw up in your mouth. Trust me, I had to walk through that kitchen in order to do my job. The owner is a complete pompous ass! Looks down on everyone. If you want to eat at a "roach motel," just go there. I believe it is a state law in PA that if a customer requests to see an establishment's kitchen, the owner must comply.

Stemies 1818 Tavern is always poppin with a good crowd...great drinks and martinis... the food is high quality and reasonably priced...never had a bad experience there....its way better than any chain restaraunt in the area...id say if you've never been to the 1818 Tavern.. try it.. its always fun

The place is always jammed. And no wonder, the food is good the atmosphere great, and the service decent. The prices are on par with similar joints in the area. Our group of 5 all ended up having one version or the other of the burger selection. I have a good appetite and it was all I could do to finish the 1818 Burger, man it\'s BIG. Be sure to ask for the Hungarian Coffee. That is a dessert in and of itself, delicious!

Disgusting place to eat. The staff is rude and the food is waay under-par and expensive. It's really cramped and is known for slow service unless your a regular. Do yourself a favor, pass.
